Heinrich Tessenow Gold Medal for Architecture
The prize for architectural excellence is awarded by the Alfred Toepfer Foundation of Hamburg. Recent winners include Peter Märkli, Eduardo Souto de Moura, David Chipperfield, Sverre Fehn, Peter Zumthor.
Recipients of the award are invited to nominate a young scholar to be supported in his/her studies in Dresden for one year.
Erich Schelling Medal for Architecture
Since 1992 the Erich Schelling Foundation and University of Karlsruhe have been awarding a biennial prize for innovative developments in architecture and architectural theory to practicing architects and academics from all over the world. Previous winners include Peter Zumthor, Sauerbruch Hutton, Busse & Geitner, Kazuyo Sedjima, Benjamin Foersters-Baldenius. The winners of the 2006 Prize for Architecture are Anne Lacaton & Jean Philippe Vassal, while Medallists include, in addition to Sergison Bates, Alejandro Aravena and Titus Bernhard.
D&AD Yellow Pencil Award (graphic design) for 'Brick-work: thinking and making', in collaboration with Cartlidge Levene
D&AD is a not-for-profit organisation that represents the international design, advertising and creative communities, sets industry standards and promotes the importance of creativity, innovation and ideas within the business community. D&AD Yellow Pencil Awards are awarded for work that has been identified as a true marker of creative excellence.

CAMRA best pub award (new-build category) for Wallsall public house
Categories for which the 'Campaign for Real Ale' awards prizes include 'new-build pubs': selection criteria are style, originality, and how well a public house fits within its surroundings.
